Jamie Panko
Outreach Assistant
Jamie, born and raised in Richmond, Virginia, is senior at James Madison University where she is double majoring in Political Science and Public Policy & Administration. She has passions for learning about and advocating for the issues of rural poverty, homelessness, refugee resettlement, and LGBTQ+ issues. She is glad to join USYF because of their mission of getting young people involved in civic engagement. After graduation, she is hoping to join the nonprofit or government administrative fields to improve community equity. In her free time, she enjoys reading, going to concerts, and helping at the local college radio station.
Jonathan Micklis
Outreach Assistant
Jonathan Micklis is currently working towards a Master’s degree in Behavioral Economics at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. Following his passion to help the most vulnerable, Jonathan has held positions assisting youth with disabilities, experiencing homelessness, and within the foster care system. Implementing behavioral science into public policy and ensuring the youth have a voice in an ever-changing political landscape, as he believes it is time to begin investing in future generations. In his free time, you can catch him reading a book, going on a run, cooking, or rewatching Lord of the Rings.
